Esta cancion ha surgido al ver un episodio de El Ala Oeste de la Casa Blanca. Blind Willie Johnson se quedo ciego a los 7 años cuando su madrastra le echo lejia en los ojos despues de que su padre la diera una paliza al creer que dormia con otro hombre. Murio pobre de neumonia despues de dormir envuelto en periodicos mojados en las ruinas de su casa que quedo destrozada por un incendio. Pero su musica esta mas alla del sistema solar. Literalmente. Esta es una de las canciones que va en la sonda Voyager 1.

This song came up watching a West Wing episode. Blind Willie Johnson was blinded at the age of 7 when his stepmother threw lye in his eyes after his father beat her for being with another man. He died, penniless, of pneumonia after sleeping bundled in wet newspapers in the ruins of his house that burned down. But his music is beyond the solar system. Literally. This is one of the songs that is in the Voyager 1 probe.
